Design and Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V Lattice Structure for Energy Absorption

A cursh cartridge is a component that is responsible for absorbing impact energy through large deformations. These structures undergo sacrificial damage in the event of a tail strike, thereby reducing the potential for expensive and detrimental damage to the primary structure. In this project, a study was conducted to test the energy absorption capability of additively manufactured (3D printed) Ti-6Al-4V structures.
